Englewood, Florida, situated on the beautiful Gulf of Mexico, is one of only a few communities in Florida that still has a small town feel. No high rises or super-malls, no traffic jams on the way to the beach; just miles of inviting sandy white beaches, countless golf courses, water sports, and so much more.
We’re often cited as having a fishing problem, but a lesser known fact is that we have an eating problem here in Englewood, and we’re proudly celebrating it with “Let’s Eat Englewood” from September 15, 2016 – September 29, 2016.
This is a Foodie’s dream come true as 20 local gourmet restaurants offer lunch and dinner entrees at reduced rates so we can try them all without breaking the bank. It’s the perfect time to enjoy our excellent restaurants before season gets started and seats are full!
Here’s the deal: Participating restaurants are offering $12 two-course lunches and three-course dinners for $23.
I just drooled my way through the available menus, and some are offering even more!
Here are a few examples:
- Ricaltinis is offering TWO lunches for $12. For dinner their appetizer course and one of their dinner courses are samplers of more than one item. I had this last year. These people do not believe in portion control. Each “sample” was a full dinner. I took home enough for 3 more delicious meals. You’d better believe I’m going back this year!
- Gulf View Grill and Boca Royale are both offering the opportunity to trade out one of their appetizer/dessert courses for a glass of house wine.
- Lock N’ Key and The Beach Road Wine Bistro are both offering glasses of wine at a discount.
- Nicolas is offering a 4 course dinner instead of three.
I am amazed at the high quality entrees that have been posted, and I know from experience that the same quality awaits at those restaurants who have not yet posted their “Let’s Eat” menus.
Last year we went to Lock N Key, Gulf View Grille, Paraiso, Zekes, Ricaltinis, Flounders, Rum Bay, and Prime Time. We’ll go back to those this year, plus I see several to add to the list. I better start planning my eating week and I hope you’ll do the same.
